How To Sell Digital Products
Selling digital products online has become highly profitable business for many internet marketers. The demand for information and software products has increased drastically in the past few years,
which created a highly profitable market to get into. Creating software or writing ebooks is not a difficult task anymore. With all the
information available on the internet and outsourcing communities anyone who is motivated is able to create a highly profitable digital
product. There are many great resources that actually give you a full blueprint on how to build your own software or create ebooks, but there is also a simple step by step formula that I am going to outline in this article.
First you need to decide what kind of product you would like to sell. Let's say you would like to write an ebook about a
topic you have no idea about. I am giving this example because I want to show you the power of outsourcing. So let's assume you want your ebook
to be about internet marketing and how to promote a website successfully. First you should start doing some research on your own and explore some websites
on that specific topic. Once you have a little more specific idea which internet marketing topic you want to cover in your ebook try to find
your competitors in the same market and maybe purchase their ebook to see how it's written and how it's formatted. Now you should know exact
topics you want include in your info product. Once you are at that point you are going to have someone else write the product for you to save
you time and all the work. You are probably asking how? right? Well, there are many web communities where people can post their projects
and have others bid on it which will give you the best price possible.
Recommended outsourcing sites:
http://www.rentacoder.com - Great if you want to find a coder for your software project
or idea
http://www.freelance.com - Also good site to post your projects at
http://www.freelanceworkexchange.com - Very popular site
http://www.guru.com - Great for software projects
Next you should visit the sites above and post the project which in your case would be writing a 100 page ebook about your
internet marketing topic. Make sure you include in your project description that you want your ebook to be delivered in PDF format.
Ok, so now you have someone writing your ebook so let's concentrate on your marketing strategy. How are you going to sell it? Well, you need a sales letter. Let's assume you have no idea how to
write a good sales letter. What do you do now? The same thing what you just did. Go to one of the freelance sites above and post a project to
have someone write you a sales letter for your minisite.
So now you have someone working on your sales letter and writing your ebook at the same time. Wow! Do you see the power of
outsourcing yet? But what about putting everything together once it's done? You are going to need a software to build websites if you don't know
any html code. I highly recommend Xsitepro, which makes website building fast and easy, but there are many other html editors on the
internet that you can download for free with less features of course.
Let's say that now you have your ebook finished and sales letter ready to be published on your webpage. Use Xsitepro to build your website, which will make the entire process a lot easier.
Once you have your sales letter published you are ready to set up your payment processor and delivery process. I highly recommend
Clickbank as your first payment processor. It's fast and easy to set up, and has the affiliate program feature integrated which is the most important factor of your success. You will also need to set up
your thank-you page which is a simple page where you will place the download link for your ebook.
Clickbank provides a simple guide on how to get accepted to their network
so read it carefully. Once everything is in place you can start promoting your website to drive sales.
When you make your first sale your product will be listed in the Clickbank marketplace where a lot of affiliates hang out to look for new products to
promote.
Your product sales page will start getting free traffic from your affiliates which will generate sales. You will also need to
decide how much are you going to pay your affiliates for any sale they generate for your product. The more you pay your affiliates the better
results you will have, but only if your product is good quality. If you start receiving too many refunds that will be the sign that your
customers are not satisfied with your digital product so you will need to improve it somehow.
I hope the above article will give you an idea on how to create your own info product. Of course there are a lot more to it then
just the above formula if you want to get into advanced strategies like branding, list building, and follow up. This is just a simple guide for
those who are just starting out with internet marketing.
Hope you liked this article,
