How To Promote A
Website
Promoting a website on the
internet can be done in many different ways. You can promote your website through paid advertising like pay per click, buying links from high traffic web sites, or paying for search engine optimization to perform in search results. There are also many free tactics to promote a website that are
also very powerful. You could learn more about search engines and how seo works to implement some search engine
optimization strategies on your own. Nowadays affiliate programs are very popular as well. You could develop a product with a sales page and create an affiliate
program for people to sell your product while they get a commission on each sale. This is probably the most powerful way of driving
highly targeted website traffic to your sales page. The best part of that is that it's free. You could also create free blogs related to your
website content to post news on. Blogs get indexed in search engines very fast. If you keep posting fairly regular to your blog then search
engine spiders will revisit it more often and crawl more pages quicker. So let's go over each way of promoting your website that I have
mentioned above with more details.
1. Pay Per Click - this way of advertising is highly effective if you have the right budget. You could almost immediately
grab a top position on search results for the specific keywords that target your market. Pay per click marketing can also get very expensive
if you bid for some competitive keywords like for example:"refinancing" or "mortgage". Many people have mastered Google Adwords and are generating a lot of money by promoting their sites, products, or affiliate programs. The benefit
of pay per click is that you can get immediate results from your spendings and gain positive ROI(Return on investment) from your campaign. If
you wish to learn about how to promote your website using pay per click on Google Adwords I highly recommend that you read the Google Cash ebook before you do anything else.
2. Buying Links From High Traffic
Websites - This marketing method could be very effective, but also a waste of money. You should always research the website you want to buy a
link from. You can look up how much traffic they are getting by going to Alexa.com and typing their domain name into the search box. Also you
need to decide where you want your link to apear at on their site. You want to get a position where your link will get the most clicks
for the best performance. I would also recommend to buy links from relevant websites. This meens that the content of the site where your link
is going to be at should be similar to yours or even the same. You can search for websites that sell links at Adbrite.com or Adster.com. Both
have some large publishers that allow advertisers to purchase links for traffic from their sites.
3. Paid Search Engine
Optimization - I actually do not recommend this method of website promotion at all. Do not pay for search engine optimization. You can buy
some great self-help guides on seo and do it yourself rather than paying someone else. The reason why I am against paying for this
kind of service is that you never know what the seo company is doing to achieve the top position for your website. They could be
practicing so called "black hat" strategies that could get your site banned from search engines forever. I highly recommend seo book for you to read which will get you better results than anything else.
4. Running an Affiliate Program - This is an outstanding way of driving targeted traffic to your site. If you have a product or service
you must run an affiliate program or you are missing out on a huge amount of money. The are many benefits of this kind of website
promotion. First, the most important fact your must notice is that it doesn't cost you anything to advertise if you have an affiliate program
in place. Your affiliates will take all the risk and spend their money to promote your product or service. All you have to do is
simply sit and watch the money coming into your bank account. There are many affiliate networks out there where you could set up your own affiliate programs. If you sell digital products I would
recommend Clickbank or Paydotcom. There are many others out there which you can find through searching on Google.
5. Creating Free Blogs - This way
of promotion is fairly new and produces some nice results as far as traffic. You could set up free blog using Wordpress platform or Blogger
within minutes. The benefits of having a blog is that they provide new fresh content for search engines. Blogs are great content management
tools which is what makes it easy to keep them updated. Blogs seem to drive more traffic from search engines than a regular website and
quicker. I would highly recommend you to set up a free blog to post news to and keep visitors of your regular website updated. This will cause
better indexing for your website overall.
You should also read Blogging To The Bank ebook which will reveal some great tactics to use with blogs to grab top search engine
rankings.
I hope this article gave you an
idea of how you could start promoting your own website on the internet.
