Google Launched Video Ads

by Pawel Reszka on May 23, 2006

Today Google announced their new advertising solution which is Video Ads. Advertisers can now pay per play. Wow! This is something I have been waiting for. Just imagine the possibilities. But how will it work? Well it’s just the same as Adwords. You can bid for placements on their content network and choose which sites you want your videos to appear on. You can pay per play or pay per impressions. Google posted on their blog that only a static image will be loaded upon reaching a page with a video ad. Once your customer starts your video ad, he will have full control over the playback as well. He’ll be able to pause it, increase volume and click to go to your website. Google hopes to attract brand names to video ads, but it’s also a great tool for smaller advertisers.

I like this idea. Some internet sites resemble more and more TV programs and not newspapers and magazines as before. So, google just helps them to move in this direction.
