CPA Ringtones Challenge – Part 2

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Well, I have been trying to get my ads approved to promote ringtones through Google Adwords and I am getting slapped every single time :(

Google’s mobile content policy is getting insane. Seriously, I think they are being too strict about it. First time, I submitted my ads they were disapproved because I had my price way down the page where the visitor wouldn’t see it when entering their personal information. So ok I went and corrected the problem and moved my price up and even made it bold. I just wanted to get the ads running so I made it visible as much as possible.

Ok, so now I submitted my ads after making the correction and they got disapproved again. This time the reason was that I didn’t have the checkbox on the page to agree with Terms & Conditions that they accept the price for the mobile subscription….grrrrr

So again I went ahead and included the checkbox and made it so they can’t even continue if they don’t check the box and agree to the terms.

Now I was 100% sure that everything was correct and I submitted my ads again for review. I was hoping to see traffic as soon as they go live, but all I saw was disapproved ads AGAIN!!!

So now I was very upset and really didn’t know what else to do. Finally, I was able to chat with one of their reps and found out that not only the price needs to be in prominent spot on your landing page but also within the ad copy of your adwords ad. ?!?!?! Wow, seriously?

They make it really hard to promote mobile content. I almost feel like dropping this project and move forward with something else. I am going to get them approved just to see what I can do with it, but I am not going to stress about it. If my ads get disapproved again I think I am going to forget about it :(

Affiliate Review Sites – Next Google Slap?

Saturday, December 13th, 2008

I found an interesting thread on Warrior Forum the other day regarding the next Google slap. You can read about it here.

Anyway, according to Harlan the next slap is going to be targeted for affiliate review sites. I know this kinda sucks for those who run some profitable ppc campaigns using the review site model. I myself run some profitable campaigns using one-page review site.

It does make sense though if you think about it. I mean everytime I do a search on Google for something I will find at least 4-5 review sites that are basically fake and have nothing but affiliate links on them. It doesn’t really provide a good user experience which is what Google wants.

But how Google is going to determine which review sites are fake and which are not? I think it’s going to be interesting to see how they manage that.

So what can you do to protect your sites from getting slapped? Well, I think that Google wants to see sites that have useful and legitimate content. They don’t like one-page sites that only try to get the visitor to buy something or fill out a form of some sort.

In my opinion the best thing to do is to build blogs and blog about the niche you are in while running ppc campaigns for products you are promoting. This way when the Googlebot comes to visit your site to check it for quality score, it will see a nice blog with lots of content on it.

You also want to start your link building campaign to let google know that you are serious about your business. Do some press releases and write some good articles for distribution. What you want to do is basically create an authority site in your niche and then run ppc campaigns for your products from that domain. I think the technique where you buy a new domain name and put a one page review on it with some affiliates links and run Adwords campaign hoping for some sales is coming to an end.

Don’t get me wrong, it still works, but for how long? So for now you can just keep milking it for as long as you can and but in the meantime you should start thinking about new concept and possible build authority sites to replace your review pages once the Google slap is unleashed.

Great Quality Score – How to boost your quality score on Adwords

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

I was experimenting with some new CPA offers and landing pages for the past few days and found a great way to boost quality score for my Adwords campaigns.

The concept is simple. Use RSS feeds to create keyword specific content pages. The key here is to display the feeds so of course they are visible to search engine spiders and then cloak the outbound links so the link juice is not getting passed and it looks like you are linking to your own pages but don’t let spiders to index it.

I used Carp Evolution to display feeds. It’s a nice useful RSS Tool that you should have in your arsenal.

Anyway here is what I did…

I created a landing page for the “employment” and “jobs” market promoting one of the offers I found on Neverblue Ads. Then I got a new domain name and installed the Carp Evolution on it. Next, I went and found rss feeds that stream job postings for different states. So now I created an html file for each state like this “illinois-jobs.html” etc. On those pages I inserted Carp’s code to display feeds and cloaked them so the links are not naked urls. Carp lets you do that with their “Click” plugin :)

I also included the robots meta tag in each page “nofollow, index”. This means that Google can index those pages but not follow any links..lol

Next I created a footer with links to each page that displays jobs for each state. I also added some specific job pages like finance jobs, administrative jobs etc.

Ok now I was ready to start the campaign and see what happens. I bid on keyword “jobs” and if you have ever tried to run a campaign for this keyword then you know how hard it is to keep it active without getting slapped with at least $10 min bid.

Anyway, here is quick snapshot of the stats:

As you can see it was just “OK” but it keeps running steady. I had it on now with limited daily budget for 2 days and now I am getting ready to bump it up a lot higher.

Now keep in mind that this a brand new domain name that was not indexed on Google yet or had any inbound links. I think that’s pretty good for such competitive keyword.

Try this technique for your own campaigns. I think you will get some great results. Imagine what you could do with less competitive niche.

Adwords Strategy That Works

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Everyone knows that Adwords can be very profitable if used the right way. It’s an awesome traffic generation tool that works instantly. You can literally set up a campaign within minutes and start testing conversions of your offers and see which keywords work and which don’t produce the results you want.

I know it sounds easy but in fact there is a lot more things involved than just setting up a campaign and hoping for good ROI.

Anyway, I have been doing some testing lately and it’s working out pretty well for me with the CPA networks. By the way I see much better conversions from a CPA offer than from a Clickbank product, so you might want to keep that in mind.

I am going to give you the exact strategy I have been using to profit from CPA offers. It works almost every time I use it. So here is what I do:

I am a member of about 6 CPA networks. I am always on the look out for great offers that pay per lead. The conversions on those are insanely high. I find something that pays per lead or where they only need to pay like $1 or $2 to sign up. I also make sure that the payout is around $15-$20.

Next, I make sure there are lots of searches within that niche and plenty advertisers. You do want to enter a market that is competitive!

Once I find an offer I want to promote then I fire up my Dreamweaver and start creating the landing page. I usually try to make the landing page look almost the same as the actual landing page of the offer I am promoting. I basically presell it and have a masked link to the offer.

Then I use my little cool script PPC Profit Booster to create landing pages for each keyword I want to bid on. I usually go for local targeting. I set up my pages so it’s like this keyword1-illinois.html, keyword2-indiana.html, and so on for each state.

Once I have the pages ready and uploaded to my site I create a sitemap for them and additional pages like privacy policy, terms page, contact us page, and that’s it. Now I go to Adwords and create the campaign. I set up a different Adgroup for each state with with only about 3-4 keywords in each Adgroup. This tactic allows me to get great quality score with no problem at all.

My ads go live and traffic starts rolling in :) I always monitor my spending and stats so the campaign is profitable. Once I see that it’s doing well I basically go and find another offer and repeat the process.

Of course sometimes I use a squeeze page before I send them to the offer, but this strategy helped me set up some profitable income streams that now run on complete autopilot…lol…ye it’s possible!

So there you have it. You could easily use this technique alone to start profiting massive cash with CPA offers. Just get out there and do it.

How To Profit From Current Events

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

The more competitive pay per click market gets the more you need to think outside of the box. Google Adwords is one amazing traffic generator for those who know how to use it.

Most of the affiliate marketers keep failing with Adwords due to cost per click being too high and not being able to gain decent ROI.

How can you profit with Adwords even though the bid prices are going up like crazy lately? Well, like I said you need to think outside of the box. In this post I want to talk about current events. When something major happens in the business industry (doesn’t matter if it’s bad or good) someone is going to make money on it.

All you have to do is watch news on TV, read sites like CNN, WashingtonPost etc…and research latest headlines.

You should also be a member of at least 3-4 CPA networks like Azoogle, RoiRocket, etc. Then when you find a major event, you should look for relevant offers on those affiliate networks.

If you can find some good CPA offers, most likely you could set up quick profitable campaigns on Adwords or any other major PPC network for that matter.

This method could be very profitable for those who know how to spot a good opportunity. You could literally generate $1000s within 1-2 days using this strategy.

Google Cash Detective & Automator

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Google Cash Detective Automator Ok, after I read the Google Cash Detective report by Chris Carpenter I had to post about it asap.

Many of you probably remember the Google Cash ebook that was released in 2003. Back then setting up a profitable Google Adwords campaign was easy as 1,2,3.

The ebook changed people’s lives and many affiliate marketers are still using the Google Cash method to rake in insane profits each and every month.

With time the method became difficult to execute for meny new marketers. Adwords has become highly competitive and without the right tools and market research you are destined to fail, period.

I didn’t make this up folks. Look at the costs per click for any high volume keyword phrases. The prices are going up like crazy and the only marketers who can survive this constant flow of new competition are those who have access to the secret tools like Google Cash Detective.

I found out about the Google Cash Detective & Automator release from Mike Filsaime. Just a couple of days ago I got an email from him about it. I am very busy with my current projects and I almost deleted his email (no offense Mike :) ) but somehow I ended up reading it. Now I am glad I did, because I want to put my hands on this sweet Google Cash Detective system as soon as it’s out.

I watched some of the videos created by Chris Carpenter inside the members area, and I must admit I was truly amazed. I can’t believe he is actually releasing this software tool to public. This thing is evil and I mean it :)

You can now seriously spy on your competition like never before. With the Google Cash Detective you can find profitable campaigns within Google Adwords and copy exactly what your compeition is doing. This is so powerful that it will make a lot of marketers mad.

But it doesn’t stop there. Chris Carpenter also developed so called Google Cash Automator. This little piece of software will automatically grab your ad goups and upload them for you into your Adwords account.

I am a fan of free advertising and was always skeptical about every new Adwords guide that would show up on the marketplace. After reading the report from Chris, I must admit that this is something else.

I highly urge you to get a free copy of his new report and watch some of the videos in his members area. I know I am going to watch for his updates regarding the Google Cash Detective & Automator. I suggest you to do the same :)

Google Is Punishing Affiliate Sites And Lead Capture Pages

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

It came to my attention that Google started simply booting affiliates out of the Adwords program. It punishes mainly one page sales letters and lead capture pages. This is something we did not want to happen but it did. It seems like Google is preparing to launch their new Cost Per Action (cpa) program next to Adwords. That means they are going to sell us leads instead of letting us just pay per click to do it on our own. This is going to hurt a lot of businesses that were spending tens of thousands of dollars every month to generate leads or sell their products. Many affiliates are getting a notice from Google to increase their bids by 300% to keep their positions in the paid search results.

Google is always trying to make their search results better and more relevant. Is that a reason why their doing this? Does Google think that the lead capture pages and one page sales letters do not provide any quality content? We don’t know. Google should consider though that there are many shoppers out there, that are not searching for content but for products that they need to solve their problems.

I hope this problem solves itself quickly so we can get back to business. Google is really hitting hard on affiliates though. If you are running affiliate campaigns then be prepared for changes that you might not like.

Google Launched Video Ads

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Today Google announced their new advertising solution which is Video Ads. Advertisers can now pay per play. Wow! This is something I have been waiting for. Just imagine the possibilities. But how will it work? Well it’s just the same as Adwords. You can bid for placements on their content network and choose which sites you want your videos to appear on. You can pay per play or pay per impressions. Google posted on their blog that only a static image will be loaded upon reaching a page with a video ad. Once your customer starts your video ad, he will have full control over the playback as well. He’ll be able to pause it, increase volume and click to go to your website. Google hopes to attract brand names to video ads, but it’s also a great tool for smaller advertisers.
